SOPHIA WILLIAMS  / IMPRESSIONIST OIL PAINTER

COASTAL MARSH ARTIST EVENT ORGANISER

An impressionist painter who works mainly in oils. I live in Stiffkey on the North Norfolk Coast. I take my inspiration from the ever-evolving landscape that I am lucky enough to call home.

Having long admired the Impressionists; my work employs methods that they used. I am fascinated with the effect of light on the landscape and my work reflects that obsession.

KAT WHEELER / CERAMIC ARTIST

Kat Wheeler works from her studio in rural North Norfolk. Her work is predominantly wheel thrown and high fired stoneware and oak smoked raku. Her pallet is generally of a natural and calming tone and stems from her desire to echo the landscape around her from the earth tones of the pebble beaches along the Norfolk Coast to the large open skies that are reflected in the sea. From functional tableware to large statement pieces her forms are designed to contrast the beauty of the raw clay against the glazed surface. She uses the Raku process alongside her stoneware work and produces functional statement pieces as a step away from the usual non functional raku form. Her work is designed to be tactile and graceful.

GUY ALLEN / PRINTMAKER

Guy Allen is an experimental printmaker, draftsman and talented young British artist. Working hard from his studio on the North Norfolk coast, Guy’s trademark experimental approach to printmaking presents an exciting mix of colour, gold-leaf and an original, contemporary take on the traditional art of etchings. Studying at Central St Martins from 2008 – 2011 Guy discovered the printing press on a trip to the École Nationale Supérieure Des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Finding an art form that lent itself so perfectly to his artistic aspirations was a revelation. He has never looked back. Since then Guy has won a number of prices, include the Diana Brooks Prize at the Mall Galleries in 2018.

ALISON WAGSTAFFE/ ARTIST

Greetings from Blakeney on the North Norfolk coast where I work in my garden studio- a muddle of roses and salty air! My pictures celebrate the romantic imagination and life in general, in paintings and hand-made artists' prints - mostly collagraphs and monotypes.

I also sell limited edition signed giclee prints (posh name for high quality archival reproductions!), greetings cards and postcards.

ANTONIA CLARE / PAINTER

Antonia Clare is an award-winning artist and writer, based in North Norfolk. Her work is expressionist in style, inspired by the wild and wonderful coastline where she lives, the colours and atmosphere of the places she visits on her travels, and sun-filled still life and interiors. She is driven by a love of colour and a passion for the painting process. Working intuitively in oil or acrylic, she uses large painterly brushstrokes that leave her work feeling fresh and uplifting. Antonia exhibits regularly and participates in Open Studio events from her shared studio in Glandford. MELANIE SADLER / ARTIST

I have been painting for ten years. I mainly work in oils and have found landscapes to be my preferred subject. As a child in the 60s and 70s I fell in love with North Norfolk, spending school holidays messing around in boats. Happily I now live in the place that holds so many precious memories for me.
